HELP US TO FUND RESEARCH TO INTEGRATE SHIATSU INTO THE AUSTRALIAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

As shiatsu practitioners, we regularly see the benefits that shiatsu contributes to our clients’ health and wellbeing. However there is a lack of awareness of shiatsu in the broader health care environment partly due to a lack of satisfactory empirical evidence available. It is timely for shiatsu practitioners in Australia to engage in the development of high quality data to increase the legitimacy of shiatsu. This will have an impact on the career viability of all practitioners and affirm our knowledge while translating our work into an easily understood language for anyone.

Now we can measure specific effects of interventions on specific issues as well as overall changes in wellbeing. It is with this in mind that STAA continues to pursue empirical evidence as a priority to raise awareness of our modality, ultimately increasing benefits to our broader community.
