My name is Bernie.  I’m taking part in the 23km event at this year’s Great Ocean Road Running Festival and as part of my efforts, I’m training with the River’s Gift run training group in Geelong. I’m training with the group twice a week for 16 weeks and have committed to raising funds to contribute to River’s Gift’s passionate pursuit to fund world leading SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) research.
River’s Gift is the largest source of non-government funding for SIDS research in Australia. The charity was created by Karl and Alexandra Waddell, in honour of their first child, River, who tragically lost his life to SIDS at 4 months of age in November 2011.
